Jalopnik's take on the RS4 (excerpt)

It is my opinion that at root, all German cars secretly want to be either trains or tanks. The RS4 is a bullet train that wants to be a rocket sled.

Precision steering, anonymous looks, endless torque, an engine tuned by Slayer and as you mentioned, mythological Scandinavian brakes add up to the car of my dreams. Audi has built my drug! Sure, the seats are no good, the mirrors are useless, the ride is drunken-Irish-husband-abusive, I've had the car for six hundred miles and have filled it up four times (remember -- they give us the car with a full tank) but WHO CARES?

Haha, thats about right. We're getting to the point of making sweet things at work.

to do, of course...

..is the title of my to do list at work. that one is actually getting done. Now if I can only maintain this as well. A suggestion from a specific someone brought me here today. Also, opened up a flickr account, johntframe to view. but man, the mapping feature is amazing, I had heard about it but had no idea it was that well done.

halloween recap

so off with the dates here. ah well. halloween was simple. our social director for lux, annie (alexandra), texted me saying she was going as marilyn monroe, and was I going too. I said sure, but wasn't planning on a costume. She said I should find something, but that she would swing by and we'd go over together. ok.

So what to dress as when you are accompanying someone who doesn't have to work at being marilyn monroe?

a text later, i said i hadnt found a costume, and got jtf! wtf! in return.

jtf... marilyn monroe... jfk. ooooh yeah.

Easy.

I had a name tag because i thought no one would get it.


But uh, then it dawned on me that I didn't need a name tag, so long as I stuck around annie.



No joke, we walked in and stood at the only open spot at the bar... and the vent turned on.

pretty convincing and well done.


Oddly enough, Andrew and I were sitting around casually drinking, I think I was actually drinking water, and at the same time, we both began to feel sick. but it wasnt like, drinking sick. no idea. we booked out of there and woke up feeling fine. who knows.

everyone is right. costumes are only fun if paired of with a group; saw about 4 people dressed as the ghostbusters, blasting the theme song out of a car that had been done up with logos and everything. Didn't have time to get the phone or the camera out. Alas...
